Head of Executive Suites NJ questions NJ Office of Counter Terrorisms Readiness to Repel a Terror Attack
("NJ Governor quits, comes out as gay." CNN:

)"
"Here in NJ we have enormously inviting targets of opportunity for terrorists, including four Refineries and Storage Tank Farms with millions of gallons of gasoline and Jet fuel in them, industrial and nuclear facilities, power companies, beach front, highways, railroads, tunnels, bridges, schools and other such targets of opportunity."
"Everyone can judge by what just happened in Russia, Al Qaeda and Chechen terrorists commandeered a public school killing 10 and taking 400 children and parents hostages. It's a horrifying prospect when you consider the number of targets we have here in NJ alone."
"The sheer audacity of our state government to miss-spend money provided for Homeland Security, has created an unexpected side-effect. Businesses are renting temporary offices and shared office space at a record pace, and virtual offices allowing workers to stay home, but still maintain a corporate presence. Our mini offices with low cost, high speed internet access are moving like hotcakes!" he added.
"Locally, IBM closed it's huge sales office in Cranford and sent it's people to work from home, I suspect that their long range concerns about possible terror attacks and the economic side effects of terrorism, and the need to be flexible, may have played a role in their decision. I've had quite a number of computer people rent space from me in the past few years, all saying the same thing: It's safer in my shared office space than elsewhere. And many of them can maintain a corporate presence here while working out of the house, for under $150 a month for a virtual office inlcuding answering service and mail, conference room, etc., or $500 and up a month for a full size, full time office."
Executive Suites NJ (

) is a prime provider of shared office space situated in the city of Cranford, in Union County, NJ. In a large corporate park setting, the facility allows individuals to rent prime office space in small amounts, and provides secretarial services, photocopying, internet access, conference rooms, high speed data access, windowed offices and other accomodations at a very equitable price.
"I've been a tenant for 15 years, and it's extremely convenient and far, far safer than if I took a space in Jersey City all my own," stated John Knight, who operates a personal computer consulting company within Executive Suites, renting two offices. "It's safer for my business, because I do not have to worry about travel on the rails to NYC, I'm 5 minutes from my home, and the security here, provided by a private security company, the Cranford Police and the Union County Police is exceptional. We're a phone call away from the FBI (news - web sites) who have offices in and around our county. I would not be in business were it not for the low rent, high level of service provision, and the ability to have customers come and go securely."
Kislak, who has owned Executive Suites NJ (
http://www.executivesuitesnj.com
) for 6 years, purchased speculatively from a prior owner, indicated that on the balance, despite being only 20 minutes from the World Trade Center site in Manhattan, that virtually all of his tenants have expressed relief at being able to maintain a safe corporate premise without much concern about terrorism due to the exceptional local security.
"There's still the feeling we're a sitting duck here in NJ hanging over every one of us. By and large, however, by providing a secured, safe housing for large businesses or small, and services that eliminate exposure to the possibility of terror attack, I'm providing a valuable service in these difficult times," stated Kislak, a real estate developer from Bergen County, NJ.
"I'm just a man on the street, a small businessman. I'd invite companies throughout the area to find out what I mean. It's safer here. I only wish I could convince NJ DHS to take steps to provide better defenses to the industrial and corporate targets in and around NY and NJ, because an attack here will have an overall bad effect on the regional economy, which is still reeling from the aftershocks of 9/11, and on the entire country. We're safer now than we were in September 2001, but the War against Terrorism still needs time, fortunately President Bush (news - web sites) is taking the right steps at the right time."
"I do have to say one thing, though: I can not support a so-called 'anti-war candidate' like John Kerry (news - web sites), as he'd be more likely to behave like Jim McGreevey who has clearly taken miss-steps regarding our homeland security in NJ. In our business there is always demand for space and I am to some degree unhappy that my business is up because of terror. Nonetheless, I feel I have to speak out now, so that my fellow businessmen and the public realize that while dangers exist, prudent preparedness will go a long way to prevent another 9/11 style tragedy, and we need to trust government to take those steps, a trust Jim McGreevey has clearly violated."
